2025 Heart of the Atchafalaya Museum Annual Benefit

Valentine’s Day Dinner Dance and Auction

On Saturday, February 15th, 2025, the annual fundraiser for the Heart of the Atchafalaya Museum took place at St. Joseph the Worker Church Hall in Pierre Part, Louisiana. Over 300 attendees enjoyed the beautiful decor, fabulous seafood dinner, auction and music provided by Don Rich!

The event was a huge success exceeding previous years with a net profit of $106,974.20!!! None of this would be possible without the support of our generous sponsors and community. Having so many amazing people working hard to see the dream become a reality pays off with great success. Thank you to all who attended, made sponsorship donations, those behind the scenes who donated their time decorating, serving and cleaning, the fabulous cooks Butch Gros, Oudrey Gros and Keri Dugas and those who assisted them, Don Rich and his band for such great music and anyone who participated in any way to make this event the success it was.

There were five very special honorary titles presented by the Museum Board President Darrel Rivere. These were awarded to individuals who have been instrumental in our success and deemed worthy of recognition. Without these individuals, none of this would be possible. Mr. Art Farve, owner of Performance Contractors accepted the title of Founding Emeritus, Former Member of the Louisiana State Senate, Bret Allain accepted the title as Founding Emeritus, Mrs. Shirley Settoon and Family accepted the Founders of the Land Award, Honorable Robert Allain, Louisiana State Senator accepted the Cultural Advocate Award and Honorable Chad Brown, Louisiana State Representative, accepted the Cultural Advocate Award. There are just not enough “Thank yous” that could ever be said to each of these award winners.

The work continues and ground breaking draws near. It will be a wonderful day when we can finally open the doors of the Heart of the Atchafalaya Museum!
